According to SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India), the
maximum brokerage charge =
equity delivery trades= 2.5%
intraday trades. = 0.25%
SEBI also states that brokerage and transaction costs are capped at 0.12% for cash market transactions and 0.05% for derivative transactions.
The maximum brokerage that a broker can charge may differ across various exchanges. For example, the BSE and NSE Bye Laws state that a broker cannot charge more than 2.5% brokerage from their clients.

- Exchange transaction costs (STT/CTT) = 0.0035%
- Stamp charges = 0.015%
- GST = 18% on (brokerage + SEBI charges + transaction charges)
- Pledging charges = Rs.30 + GST per pledge
- DP (Depository participant) charges = Rs.13.5 + GST per scrip
- Delayed Payment Charges = Interest is levied at 18% a year or 0.05% per day
- Service tax = 15% on brokerage and exchange transaction costs.
