 According to SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India), the 

maximum brokerage  charge =

 equity delivery trades= 2.5% 

 intraday trades. = 0.25% 

SEBI also states that brokerage and transaction costs are capped at 0.12% for cash market transactions and 0.05% for derivative transactions. 

The maximum brokerage that a broker can charge may differ across various exchanges. For example, the BSE and NSE Bye Laws state that a broker cannot charge more than 2.5% brokerage from their clients.

  1. Brokerage  charge = 0.12 % 
  2. Exchange transaction costs (STT/CTT) = 0.0035%
  3. Stamp charges = 0.015%
  4. GST = 18% on (brokerage + SEBI charges + transaction charges)
  5. Pledging charges = Rs.30 + GST per pledge
  6. DP (Depository participant) charges = Rs.13.5 + GST per scrip 
  7. Delayed Payment Charges = Interest is levied at 18% a year or 0.05% per day
  8. Service tax = 15% on brokerage and exchange transaction costs. 

market value of a scrip is < Rs. 10, brokerage = 25 paise per share
